My Incredible Teenager – Thank You Harry

As many of you know last Friday my mother passed away, despite the fact she has been poorly for quite a few years her passing was sudden and unexpected leaving us all in shock. We were concerned about the effect it would have on the children, Especially Harry as he was extremely close to his Nanny and will often tell everyone about the time he stayed with his Nan in Wales for 10 days. The kids take over – Harry – Week 4

Each week I am handing over my blog to the kids to have their say and let you know whats going on with them. I have told them they can be completely honest and if I have annoyed them or if something has upset them then to just go for it and type how they feel. I figured this way you guys can get to know their personalities and more about who they are as each one of them is completely different.

Away From Home – What it means to me

Hello everyone welcome to my blog take over. Today is Wednesday for you and I’m writing this throughout the week. So the main focus for this post is about staying away from home and what it means to me.

Ever since I was little I have hated staying away from home and this week I have decided to challenge myself. I have done this by going to My Uncle and Aunties House for 5 days. This is possibly the longest I have stayed away from my mum in 13 years. Well apart from when I was very small and I stayed at my nan’s house for 10 days.

I’m not gonna lie I’m having fun but I am also really missing my mum and family who are back home. I am here with my 2 sisters. Ellie and Annabelle. That means my mum, dad and younger siblings are still at home.

Like I mentioned earlier I hate staying away from home. I don’t mind being away from home in the day but its the night that gets me. I think it might be because I am used to hearing my mum talking downstairs or just knowing she’s near me at all times.

While I have been here we have done loads of cool things such as going to the Birthplace of Sir Isaac Newton. Going to a water park and playing a 2 day game of Monopoly.

I know its only been a short post but it means quite a bit. See you guys next week on my blog takeover.

Bye!

A special kids takeover – Harry’s award

Here is a special takeover in Mummyof5miracles “Hand the blog to the kids” segment. This is a special takeover by me, Harry Dodd-Sutton.
My Award

Hello everyone, Welcome to my special blog take over. On Thursday 20th July 2017, I finally received my award. If you remember my last blog post Harry takes over week 3 . You will know that I have been nominated to receive an award.

Well I had no idea what it was for until I got there. It turned out to be for my favourite subject. Computer Science. I was so happy when I got up to receive it.

When I went to get it, I was given three prizes.

1) A certificate to show what the award was for and who it was for.

2) A Terry’s Chocolate orange.

3) A strange envelope. When I was given the envelope, I went back to my seat and started to open it. It turned out it was a £5 Tesco voucher. Strange prize but useful.

Harry week 3

Hello everyone welcome to week 3 of my blog takeover. This post i will be talking about awards, year 9 options and the sun.

So this week was sports day at school and the temperature was 28°c. And some idiot (by that i mean me) took sun cream and forgot to put it on so now im sun burnt on my face, neck and pretty much everywhere. The moral of this story is wear sun cream or you could end up looking like me.

Awards. This week i get my academic award. I have to attend an academic award ceremony at the academy i go to school everyday. This is exciting for me because once a term we have an exam week ( a series of exams for different subjects) and last time Ellie got top of the year and it seemed like she got all the attention. I’m glad its my turn because i worked so hard to get to this point and im glad i did.

I have finally got my options back for year 9 and my GCSEs. I got told im doing Computer Science , Triple science and geography. These are the subjects i really wanted to get. I am also estimated A** in all of my exams.

So that’s a bit of whats going on in my life right now and im not gonna lie im writing this while getting ready for school. See you next week
Harry.

The Kids Take Over – Harry – Week 2

Each week I am handing over my blog to the kids to have their say and let you know whats going on with them. I have told them they can be completely honest and if I have annoyed them or if something has upset them then to just go for it and type how they feel. I figured this way you guys can get to know their personalities and more about who they are as each one of them is completely different.

Harry week 2

Hey guys welcome to week 2 of my blog takeover.

This post I will be talking all about my week. This week has been quite crazy. The main event this week was on Saturday. This Saturday me and my family went out for the day. We went to the Shropshire Fire Station and Carding Mill Valley. This was so much fun. You can check out all about that on my YouTube channel ( Harry Hopkins tech advice and more.)

This week has also had some bad points. One example of this is school. At school i have been given a world war 2 project to do. This project was to do a presentation on WW2. I put over 48 hours of my time into this presentation. This may sound like it’s not that bad but i have been waiting for 3 weeks to showcase it. This is 3 weeks after the due date and one and a half weeks till the end of the academic year. This really bothers me and i have said i am not leaving my school until I have showcased it. That’s all i have for you guys today but come back next Wednesday if you want to hear more about my life.

Thanks Harry, I’m sure you will get to do your project, you’ve worked hard enough on it.

Harry’s Wednesday Takeover!

Hello everyone, Let me start off by saying my name is Harry. You probably know me as the oldest child of the miracle clan. I am going to be using my weekly take over to let you guys know more about me and my life.

Here’s my story

I was born in a Welsh hospital and lived in Wales for about 4 years of my life. I used to love it there. Yes, I was only small but whenever I go to Wales I always think “I’m home again!”

Years after I moved away from Wales I went back to visit my Nan and Grandad for a few days with my Mum, Dad and sister Ellie. After we had visited for a few days it was time to go back home. The problem was I wasn’t ready to leave so my Nan, Grandad, Mum and Dad arranged for me to be able to stay there for an extra 10 days whilst the rest of the family went home.

This meant is was just me, my Nan and my Grandad. Over the 10 days we did lots of fun things. I have two specific memories I thought would be fun to share. In the 10 day period a team of builders were working outside on a drain. I used to sit there for hours watching the builders in this drain. I have no idea why I enjoyed it so much. There was this one builder who noticed I was there every day and one day he came to me and gave me a hat and headphones so I wouldn’t get hurt whilst watching.

The other memory I was to share is kinda strange. During the 10 days I was there me, my Nan and Grandad decided to have a picnic on the top of this hill next to my nans house. I used to call it broccoli hill. This was because all of the trees looked like pieces of broccoli. When we got to broccoli hill we met another family. There was a small boy named Harry and he was on a picnic with his Nan and Grandad, this freaked me out.

I want you to know more

Now you all know a bit about my past life I want you all to know more about me now. I am a 13-year-old boy who lives in a family of 7 people. I am a Youtuber with 40 subscribers. I just try to make the best out of any situation. I have a hamster called Fandango and love all of my family and friends.

Thank you for reading this blog post I hope you enjoyed reading it. I will be writing another on 12th July and that will be about my week and not my life. Feel free to check out my YouTube Channel Harry Hopkins Tech advise and more and maybe subscribe whilst you’re there. I also want to say thank you to Mummy Of 5 Miracles for the chance to do a weekly guest blog on her blog.

Thank you Harry , great first post 🙂

I’m now officially a mum to a teenager!! How on earth did that happen?

Yesterday I opened my eyes ready to jump out of bed. However there was no jumping involved, I could barely move, my bones were creaking. My back was breaking. As I stood up my knee’s creaked. Then I wobbled my way to the bedroom door it dawned on me, it had happened. I had woken up the mum of a teenager and now I am old! I recently wrote A letter to my son as he approaches the big 13 have a read and see the more grown up side of my parenting. A letter to my son Harry as he approaches his teenage years

Dear Harry

I can’t believe in just a couple of months you are going to be a teenager! 13 how on earth did that happen? I’m pretty sure I only gave birth to you last week and I can remember it so clearly it could have been just yesterday.

So anyway I thought as you’re approaching this massive milestone I would write you a little letter with some hints and tips from a mum to her not so little boy. Continue reading “A letter to my son Harry as he approaches his teenage years”
